Sometimes a romantic gesture gets you more than good karma. Guy Stoller of Omaha, Nebraska, made a stop at a grocery store to buy flowers as a surprise for his wife, and picked up a quick pick Powerball ticket at the same time.  The ticket matched the first five numbers in the drawing, winning Guy and his wife Marcella the second-tier prize of $1 million.

“He bought me flowers and a Powerball ticket just for fun,” said Marcella when she and guy went to claim their winnings. “I guess now if I’m shopping for clothes, I don’t have to wait for a sale.” The Stollers said they had no set plans for the money, but were considering using part of it for their grandchildren’s education.
