From now on, Connecticut Lottery winners will have six months less time to claim their prizes – only 180 days.  The change is expected to bring $6.1 million in unclaimed prize money for the cash-starved state.  About 2% of prizes went unclaimed last year in CT.  Of the 45 domestic lottery agencies, 27 have claim periods of 180 or 182 days; 15 – including New Hampshire - have one-year claim periods;  3 — Georgia, New Mexico and Oklahoma — give players only 90 days to claim prizes.  For more, click here.
