A woman, whose lucky number is now 31, claimed her check for $250,000 at New Hampshire Lottery headquarters on November 19.  Ruth Holmes of Littleton, NH matched number “31” in Game 4 on her Jackpot Fortunes instant scratch ticket to reveal that she had instantly won $250,000.

“During this time of year, it’s especially nice to have winners, like Ms. Holmes, come forward,” said Executive Director Charlie McIntyre. “We’re very excited for her.” 

Holmes, who purchased her winning ticket at Parkers Market in Littleton, matched one of the numbers on her ticket to one of the “winning numbers” to win the $250,000 prize that was shown on her ticket.  Holmes’ win was the second of the two top prizes in the game.  

“There is still a third prize of $250,000 that will be awarded on February 4, 2011 through a second chance draw.  All non-winning Jackpot Fortunes tickets entered into NH Lottery Replay are eligible for that games’ final drawing prize!” said McIntyre. 

Ms. Holmes said she plans to use her winnings towards fixing her home and taking a vacation, and will put the rest in the bank.
