WHAT: As the cars of NASCAR race their way back to New England for the SYLVANIA 300 and the second race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup on Sunday, September 25 the New Hampshire Lottery and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway are working together to rev up fans with unique promotions, special discounts and Guinness World Record attempts.
As part of the weekend’s festivities, the New Hampshire Lottery and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway will attempt a new Guinness World Record by certifying the world’s largest scratch ticket (a 36 foot, 2 inch tall by 18 foot, 8 inch wide “$1 Million Cash Spectacular” scratch ticket) on Thursday, September 22 at 6:20 p.m. during ‘Fan Fest’ at the speedway. One lucky player along with a representative from the NH Lottery and Jerry Gappens, Executive VP/General Manager of the NH Motor Speedway will scratch the world’s largest ticket in front of an adjudicator from Guinness World Records who will certify the ticket and present a plaque if the ticket meets the necessary requirements.
The Lottery is once again giving fans an opportunity to enter any non-winning lottery tickets into a drawing that will be held on Saturday night for a chance to attend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver’s Meeting held prior to the start of the Sylvania 300 on Sunday, September 25. Lucky fan Rick Graham won and attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver’s Meeting held prior to the start of the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 in July.
As an ongoing part of the partnership, the Lottery will offer fans a chance to purchase lottery tickets at the sales trailer and instant tickets at any of the nine self-service vending machines located throughout the Speedway property. Additionally, fans can bring up to10 non-winning Lottery tickets to the Speedway box office to receive up to $10 off any race day ticket.
Pre-race on Sunday, September 25, the New Hampshire Lottery will award a $1 million prize approximately1:30 p.m. as part of the “NH Millionaire 3” instant scratch game. The $1 million prize will be won by one of 16 finalists in front of thousands of fans during a pre-race drawing. The game’s 16 finalists will appear on stage along with a Chase for the Race driver who will draw names from the official NH Lottery drum. The finalists will walk off-stage with the following prizes:
• 10 winners will receive $1,000
• 4 winners will receive $5,000
• The runner-up will receive $10,000
• The grand-prize winner will receive $1 million
