NH Officials hope a ‘lucky’ player wins in time for St. Patrick’s Day
The grand prize for Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing has swelled to an estimated $200 million with a one-time cash payout option of $145.4 million. Friday night’s jackpot drawing, the eve of the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, will be held at 11 p.m.
"It would be incredible for a ‘lucky’ Granite State resident to hit the jackpot on the eve of my favorite holiday – St. Patrick’s Day!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “With the spring-like weather and a festive holiday approaching, excitement is in the air across the state. We’re excited to see both new players and lottery players across the state buying tickets for Friday’s drawing.”
The Mega Millions jackpot has been climbing since January 24, when Marcia Adams of College Park, GA won a $72 million prize.
“It would be great start to the fun-filled weekend if we had our first Mega Millions winner from New Hampshire in Friday night’s drawing,” McIntyre added. “That would be a great addition to our growing list of jackpot winners in the state.”
Mega Millions is drawn at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and is offered at more than 1,250 lottery locations throughout New Hampshire.
