Third largest jackpot in the game’s history and largest cash option ever!
Two Players in NH Win Big in Friday’s Drawing!
Two lucky New Hampshire Lottery players won $250,000 prizes after Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing. Ray DeVone of Salisbury has stepped forward as one of the two winners. He purchased his ticket at Cumberland Farms on King Street in Boscawen. The other $250,000 winning ticket, claimed by Theodore Turmel of Hudson, was sold at Hannaford on Derry Road in Hudson.
The grand prize for Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing has soared to an estimated $363 million with a one-time cash payout option of $259.8 million, making it the third largest jackpot in the game’s history and the largest cash option ever!
"Wow, this is an exciting time for New Hampshire Lottery Players!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “The jackpot has soared to dream-worthy levels, and we’re seeing some different people jump into the game. There’s lots of talk around the office about how someone would spend this money, and there’s a lot buzz when people stop into retailers to pick up their tickets.
Tomorrow night’s Mega Millions jackpot is the largest Mega Millions jackpot since March 25, 2011, when seven state workers from Albany, New York, won a $319 million Mega Millions jackpot.
Mega Millions' second largest annuity jackpot of $380 million, and formerly largest cash jackpot of $240 million, was won during the January 4, 2011 drawing. Two tickets, one each from Idaho and Washington, matched all six winning numbers, winning $190 million each.
Mega Millions' largest annuity jackpot, of $390 million, was won during the March 6, 2007 drawing. Two tickets also won this jackpot – one each from Georgia and New Jersey. Both sets of winners chose the cash option, splitting $233 million.
“We hoping we have our first Mega Millions jackpot winner from New Hampshire from tomorrow night’s drawing. And with a jackpot of this size, it would be terrific to hand over a check to a NH Lottery player!” added McIntyre.
Mega Millions is drawn at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and is offered at more than 1,200 lottery locations throughout New Hampshire. Tickets are on sale until 9:50 p.m. on draw nights.
