The largest jackpot ever in the game’s history and the largest cash option ever!
The grand prize for Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing has shattered the $400 million barrier, and is rewriting the record book with an estimated $500 million with a one-time cash payout option of $359.4 million!
"To say that this is an exciting time for New Hampshire Lottery Players is an understatement!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “The jackpot has soared beyond where it’s ever been, and we’re now at history-making levels! There’s a tremendous amount of buzz and excitement, more office pools than ever as people dream of even a piece of the $500 million jackpot!”
Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot is the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever, obliterating the old record of $390 million which was won by seven state workers from Albany, New York in March 2007.
The cash jackpot also surpassed its own record, jumping from $259 million to $341 million - $101 million more than the second-biggest cash jackpot ever, the $240 million reached by Mega Millions in January last year.
If piled in a single stack of $1 bills, the cash windfall could start at the bottommost spot of the ocean and still tower above Mount Everest.
“Like every one of our Players, we’re dreaming big and hope we have our first Mega Millions jackpot winner from New Hampshire on Friday. It would be history-making in two senses of the word!” added McIntyre.
Mega Millions is drawn at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and is offered at more than 1,200 lottery locations throughout New Hampshire. Tickets are on sale until 9:50 p.m. on draw nights.
