NH Lottery Awards N&K Market a $10,000 Check for Selling $1M Powerball Ticket

Wednesday, August 01, 2012

The New Hampshire Lottery presented a $10,000 ceremonial, oversized check today to Nadeem Ahmed, owner of the N&K Market in Manchester. The store sold a $1 million winning Powerball ticket for the Saturday, July 14 Powerball drawing.

N & K Market, located on Pearl Street in Manchester sold the $1 million winning ticket to Mark Pare of Manchester. Pare used a winning number combination of 04 – 16 – 32 – 37 and 46 – which are birthdays and special dates – to win. He claimed his prize of $1,000,000 at Lottery Headquarters in Concord on July 19.

“It feels great,” Ahmed said of receiving his $10,000 retailer incentive check. “We’re going for the big one now!”

“I love giving away money! I especially love to give checks to store owners,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. “Players like Mark Pare win money. Retailers who sell those winning tickets receive incentive checks like the one today. Most importantly, with the net profit from the sale of lottery tickets earmarked for education, they are ultimately the big winners!”

Over the past year, the New Hampshire Lottery has had 38 winners of $10,000 to $250,000 in all of the lotto games – New Hampshire POWERBALL®, Mega Millions®, Tri-State Megabucks Plus®, Tri-State Weekly Grand Extra®, Hot Lotto Sizzler®, and Tri-State Pick3/Pick4 Daily Numbers®.
