Two lucky New Hampshire Lottery players are now a combined $3 million wealthier thanks to the Wednesday night Powerball drawing. Each player matched 5 of the winning numbers 3 – 7 – 11 – 15 – 28 to win that prize, and one of the winners played the same numbers twice, netting a $2 million prize. No one matched all of the winning numbers drawn; the Powerball jackpot is estimated to be $253 million for Saturday night’s drawing.
Cabot Street Market in Portsmouth sold one of the lucky winning tickets to a player who won two $1 million prizes, totaling $2 million. The store will receive $20,000 for selling the winning ticket.
“We previously have sold a $200,000 winning ticket for the Powerball game in the past,” said Jeff Bell, owner of the Cabot Street Market. “We posted it on our Facebook page as soon as the lottery told us we had sold those tickets. We’ll use the $20,000 commission check and give some to our employees and pay some bills.”
Main Dunstable Shell of Nashua sold the second million dollar Powerball ticket; they will receive $10,000 for selling this winning ticket. “We are very excited to have sold a million dollar ticket,” said Jesci Larochelle store manager of the Main Dunstable Shell.
“This has been a great summer for New Hampshire!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. “We are thrilled to have not one but two winners to celebrate and welcome to the New Hampshire millionaire club!”
The next Powerball drawing is Saturday, August 11, when the estimated jackpot will reach $253,000,000 annuity, or $170,500,000 cash value.
