New $20 Tri-State New Year Millionaire Raffle on Sale Thursday!

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

CONCORD – The New Hampshire Lottery has added a raffle ticket to its line-up of products with the first ever Tri-State New Year Millionaire Raffle game going on sale Nov. 1. Starting tomorrow, tickets for the raffle game will be on sale at all lottery retail locations statewide. Each raffle ticket costs $20 and prizes range from $250 to the top prize of $1 million cash. The winning raffle drawing will be held on Jan. 4, 2008.

“We are excited to offer our players the new raffle game with a $1 million cash top prize. Each raffle ticket comes with a printed six digit number. Once players buy their tickets, they’ll have to hold on to them – the raffle drawing will be held on January 4, 2008. With limited tickets and a limited time on sale, don’t delay in getting your tickets” stated Rick Wisler, Executive Director.

In the Tri-State area of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, a total of 200,000 raffle tickets will be sold. From those tickets sold, the top prize of $1 million cash will be awarded.

Specifically in New Hampshire, a total of 80,000 raffle tickets will be sold. After awarding the top prize from the tickets sold in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, the other prizes for this game are state specific. Granite State Raffle ticket holders will win 341 non-jackpot prizes ranging from $250 up to $250,000.

Because of the game’s favorable odds, Lottery officials advise customers to purchase their tickets right when they go on sale. Lottery raffle games in other states have often sold out–sometimes in a matter of days.

Since 1964, the New Hampshire Lottery has had a significant financial impact on the state. For the past 43 years, the New Hampshire Lottery has recorded $3.6 billion in lottery sales, with $2.4 billion being paid in prizes and other cost of sales with net proceeds to education totaling more than $1.1 billion.

The New Hampshire Lottery Commission is located at 14 Integra Drive in Concord, currently manages all lottery operations in the state including Instant games, New Hampshire POWERBALL®, Tri-State Megabucks?, Tri-State Paycheck, Hot Lotto?, and Tri-State Pick3/Pick4 Daily Numbers® games.
