CONCORD, N.H. – The largest Powerball jackpot in history is up for grabs Wednesday (11/28) night, with an estimated jackpot of $425 million, and a one-time cash payout option of $278.3 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are before taxes.)
The largest Powerball jackpot won to date was $365 million won by a group of eight ConAgra workers in Nebraska in February of 2006. Last night’s (11/24) winning numbers were 22-32-37-44-50 with Powerball 34.
While there were no jackpot winners in last night’s Powerball drawing, a total of 2,070,976 players across the nation won more than $25.2 million in prizes. In New Hampshire, more than 16,000 players won close to $90,000 in lower-tier prizes, including one winner of the $10,000 prize. That winning ticket was sold at the Hannaford Grocery Store on Route 16 in North Conway.
“We love making history at the lottery! So while you’re out doing your holiday shopping, stop and buy a Powerball ticket or two and take your chance at winning the biggest Powerball prize ever!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “In Powerball ticket sales alone last week, we sold close to $2 million and leading up to this jackpot, we expect sales to be through the roof. Buy your tickets early before Powerball mania kicks in! And who knows, this jackpot could be even bigger before the drawing on Wednesday.”
The New Hampshire Lottery also has a number of the ever-popular holiday-themed Instant games now on sale and subscriptions to Tri-State Megabucks Plus, Powerball, Mega Millions and Hot Lotto are on sale year around.
Powerball tickets are on sale at over 1,250 locations in New Hampshire until 9:50 p.m. Wednesday night.
