Prize Claiming

Claiming Prizes of $600.00 or More

If you possess a winning ticket for a prize of $600.00 or more OR multiple tickets whose prizes add up to $600 or more, regardless of the game, you may claim it at the New Hampshire Lottery® Headquarters or you may claim it by mail as detailed below.

Positive photo identification and proof of Social Security Number must accompany claims made at New Hampshire Lottery® Headquarters.

Acceptable forms of proof of Social Security Number

  • Original signed Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration.

  • Valid driver's license on which the Social Security Number is listed.

  • An original, within 30 days, paycheck stub on which the Social Security Number is printed.
Claim by Mail

To redeem your New Hampshire Lottery® winning ticket of $600.00 or more, complete the back of the ticket with your name, address and telephone number, sign the ticket, then mail it with a completed claim form, a copy of photo proof of identification and a copy of an acceptable form of proof of Social Security Number to Attn: Claims, NH Lottery, 14 Integra Drive, Concord, NH 03301. We do recommend that you mail your ticket "Certified Mail".

The Prize Claim Form form below must be completely filled out and signed by the appropriate person.

Upon receipt of your paperwork and your ticket, your ticket will be validated and a check in the proper amount will be issued. Processing time is approximately one week from the time your ticket is received.

The Lottery Commission is required to report any winnings over $599 to the Internal Revenue Service using a W2-G document, this will be sent to you at the end of the year. There is a federal tax withholding of 25% for any winnings over $5,000. The top federal graduated tax rate is 35%. Lottery winners may be at a tax rate other than the 25% withholding rate. Non-Resident of the United States will have a 30% tax withholding for any winnings over $599. You may wish to seek legal or financial advice, for we do not offer such services.

Claiming Prizes of $599.99 or Less

If you possess a winning ticket for a prize of $599.99 or less, you may claim it at any participating New Hampshire Lottery® Retailer or by mail.

Please Note

  • As of July 1, 2000, all New Hampshire Lottery® retailers may sell/cash Online and Instant Games offered by the New Hampshire Lottery®.

  • Unclaimed prizes for Instant Games expire one year after the game is closed.

  • Unclaimed prizes for Online games expire one year from the draw date.

  • New Hampshire state law requires the winner's name, town and amount won be available for public information. A winner's street address and phone number is not considered public information.
